a vet that thanked us for coming... and free lunch.

he rolled up to us with his daughter's help with a big smile and shook our hands and sincerely thanked us for coming to carrabella and celebrating with them. i was overwhelmed by his gratitude for our attendance after all he had sacrificed for us and all of you as well. we should feel a debt of gratitude to all who have stood up for us over the many conflicts and unquestioningly did what had to be done. their sense of duty is amazing. as we travel through this amazing land we are struck with the diversity and beauty we encounter in the people we meet. this was but another in a long list of plesant surprises we have experienced over the last two months. what an amazing place this country of ours is. i know we have seen but a small portion of it, but we are humbled and thankful for all we have experienced so far. next stop is steinhatchee. then a short stop in manatee springs, just an overnighter, then on to cedar key. mas anon.
