stennis rocket test center...

where all of the space shuttle rocket morors are tested before they blast off. when we got off the highway to get some touring info at a touring info center just off the highway... we were fortunate enough to be at the right plae at the right time. there was a tour just about to leave for the stennis space center we never knew existed. we jumped aboard the bus hoping it was not a scam to abduct test subjects for some government secret program and were whisked off to quite a delightful interlude. it was a plesant day and we enjoyed a tour of the test sites and a small museum they had on-site. there were lots of rocket motors on display. oddly enough, another thing that is done at the facility is the refurbishing of the weather bouys that are moored far offshore to collect weather information. a picture is provided here of one of the bouys. before we went to the info center we stopped at a gas station where they raised tigers. i am willing to place a wager this is the only gas station that raises tigers, at least in this country. well, there you go. wonders never cease!
