as we travel around texas we meet lots of interesting and very friendly people. one is john corder, the happy plumber. leaving galveston we stopped along the road to ask about some good vittles for lunch. there was a sign wishing john corder a happy birthday to himself so we stopped to ask about the taqueria next door to his plumbing shop. he raved about the food (as it turned out he owned the building and rented to the people who ran the eatery) and highly recommended it to us, we bit. the repast was wholesome and most filling. authentic mexican food prepared by authentic green card holding mexicans. taqueria la chiquita wins the monkey house recommendation for "good eats" in texas. but you have to go to brazoria, texas, it's worth the trip... and say hi to john the happy plumber while you are there.
john recommended we see the area around palacios, tx. so we set off in that direction.
